What Happens In A Session?
As a fully qualified and experienced Gestalt counsellor, I am interested in both how you are now and what you are hoping for today. Together, we will explore what is bothering you and experiment with ways of supporting you to grow and flourish.
In our first session we will assess and explore both your current difficulties and the support you have available and plan a way forward together.
If we decide to continue to work together then we will agree a regular weekly appointment and an initial number of sessions. I am experienced in working effectively in a few sessions (6-12) I also offer longer term, more open-ended counselling.
We will review our work regularly, looking at what is working well and at anything that is holding us back. This will help us to identify any new themes in our work and to agree how to make best use of our time.

We will experiment with new ways of responding to current circumstances.
Everyone is unique; I am interested in how your thinking and behaviour are formed by the environment and culture in which you grew up and now live. This may include exploring your spirituality and values. As you gain insight and understanding you will discover new ways of supporting yourself to live differently and make different choices.
I have significant experience of working with people affected by addictions and other diagnosed mental health conditions. I have also worked extensively with people recovering from the impact of bereavement or other loss and abusive or traumatic relationships. I love it when clients find new purpose and direction in their lives as they start to flourish and grow in new ways.
